Lodge number 6 at Wild Heritage, otherwise known as Acacia Lodge is located on the sunrise side of the peninsular, overlooking the bay going in to Charara River. There is car parking in the driveway/garden for 1-2 vehicles. There are no fences around Wild Heritage, which gives you a unique experience with wild animals often grazing on the lawns and drinking out of the swimming pool, so please be aware of this and take the necessary precautions with the wildlife.
Located on the lower level of Acacia lodge is the kitchen, lounge and a bedroom. The lounge has an overhead fan, two double leather couches and a flat screen TV, so bring your own decoder and smart card. There is no complimentary Wi-Fi, but there is generally full cell phone reception available. The bedroom with 2 x ¾ beds has air con and mosquito nets. Adjacent to this is the downstairs bathroom with toilet, basin and bath. The entertainment area at the front of the lodge has comfortable chairs to relax in, as well as a separate table and chairs which are set up for dining out. The pool is also at the front of the lodge and offers a wonderful view of the lake from the cool waters.
Acacia Lodge has another two bedrooms upstairs that have 2 x ¾ beds in each, as well as mosquito nets and air con. These two rooms share a bathroom with a bath and a shower, toilet and basin. Both bedrooms open out onto a shared deck that runs parallel to the rooms with a comfortable day bed/couch on which to enjoy the stunning views.
Please note that as all the lodges are thatched there is to be STRICTLY NO SMOKING and NO wood braai’s, except for at the communal pool area. Wild Heritage is located in a national parks area and your neighbours are very close, therefore noise levels are to be kept at a minimum.
Acacia lodge is hired out on a self-catering basis so guests are required to bring their own food, beverages, bin bags, toiletries, cleaning products and toilet rolls. Water at Wild Heritage comes from the lake so please ensure you boil all drinking water and possibly bring extra from home. All the lodges are on the national grid, so you are able to bring and run your own hair dryers and shavers. If the power does go out there is a small backup generator, with a limited amount of fuel, which needs to be replaced if used. Guests are requested not to use the kettle and hairdryers when the generator is in use. There is a gas cooker in case of faults, and solar lamps are provided in each room.
