Lodge number 2 at Wild Heritage is located on the sun rise side of the peninsular, offering gorgeous views of the Charara River Bay. Like all the properties at Wild Heritage, #2 is not fenced, and therefore has animals often walking right up to the building. Due to its location near the point, Nyati Lodge is one of the most private lodges at Wild Heritage and therefore one of our most favourite.
As you walk in to the lower level of this double storey building, you will find a comfortable lounge area with large screen TV and open view decoder. Please bear in mind that because Wild Heritage is located in a National Parks area, and your neighbours are so close, noise levels are to be kept to a minimum. There are a few books provided for guests’ entertainment, as well as a set of binoculars and a monocular. Please be careful and considerate with these. Wi-Fi is also available on a pay as you go option (dial 0785202170 to top-up and ask for the password and user name from the Caretaker). The lounge and open plan kitchen/dining area have overhead fans to keep you cool.
The fully equipped double kitchen has a gas and electric stove, fridge freezers, microwave, kettle, toaster, ice machine, etc. There is also a washing machine, but laundry is done at an extra charge. Please note – guests need to bring their own drinking water as the water pumped in to the house is not suitable for drinking.
The lodge has 4 bedrooms in total, with two bedrooms located downstairs, both with 2 x 3/4 beds, which can be pushed together to make double beds. Both these rooms have aircon and either overhead or freestanding fans. They share a bathroom that has a toilet, basin and shower.
The other 2 bedrooms are located upstairs, and comprise of one room with a super king size bed, and the other has a queen bed for the adults, as well as 2 single beds for children. The lodge only accepts a max pax of 8 adults and 2 children. The upstairs bedrooms share a second bathroom which has a toilet, basin and both a shower and a bathtub. Both bedrooms have aircon and fans mounted on the side wall. These 2 upper bedrooms open out on to a small shared patio with chairs and table. This is the ideal spot to have your coffee and rusks in the morning or viewing the wildlife at night.
Straight out the front of the lodge is a verandah, with an 8 seater dining table, and 2 x sun lounge chairs next to the gorgeous pool. Dining can either be inside or outside on the verandah. Please note that, as all the lodges are thatched, there is to be STRICTLY NO SMOKING and NO wood braai’s, except for at the communal pool area. There is a gas braai on the verandah for guests to use – but please be EXTRA cautious when using.
*PLEASE NOTE ALL PLUGS ARE ROUND – BRING ADAPTORS WITH YOU FOR CHARGING
There is a back up generator able to run all the lights and fans (but not the aircon). The generator will be switched on between 5.30pm and 9:30pm, thereafter rechargeable solar lamps will have to be used for light.
As previously mentioned, because the lodge is located in a National Parks area you will find a lot of game frequents the complex. Zebras, elephants, water buck, crocodiles, hippos and sometimes buffalo and lion, can be seen from the comfort of your lodge. Guests are advised NOT to go outside the lodge at night as hippos like to graze on our lawns and elephants frequent the area.
Check in is after 12 noon and check out is 10am.
