Rukuru Bush Camp is a newly opened tented camp, located on the banks of the Zambezi River, with gorgeous views of the River. The camp is situated below the border town of Chirundu, and only 60kms up river from the world famous Mana Pools National Park. Rakuru has 8kms of river frontage and is on a private concession, so guests have exclusive use of this part of the land when participating in game drives or walks. The property is not fenced, which allows the wildlife to walk freely from the river. Elephants and other game are often in camp, so a guide will need to escort you back to your rooms at night.
The main area of the lodge is made up of an open-plan dining room and lounge overlooking the river, surrounded by lovely green lawns. The kitchen is adjacent to the dining room as well as a toilet so guests do not have to return to their rooms. The camp swimming pool is behind the main entertainment area and the fire pit off to the left overlooking the river.
There are eight tented, en-suite rooms, which can be converted from twins into king size doubles. All the rooms have hot and cold running water, a small fan, mosquito nets and complimentary tea and coffee facilities and a small outside verandah so guests can enjoy the view from the luxury of their own private patio.
As well as fishing activities, guests are able to go on game drives and game walks with a Professional Guide. If you are looking for a place to stay that has all the magic of Mana Pools, but not the hustle and bustle of the crowds, then Rukuru Bush Camp is the place for you.
