Kingfisher lodge, which was formerly Lambs Lair, is located in Charara, Kariba and overlooks Paterson Bay. Kingfisher is now made up of 1 self-catering lodge that has recently been completely renovated to a high standard. Water is provided by a FILTERED BOREHOLE which is supplied directly to the lodge. Electricity is supplied from the national grid, but in emergencies there is a 30 KVA generator. The lodge has a fully kitted out kitchen with water coolers, gas and electric stoves, 2 fridges and 2 freezers. There is also a cook who can assist with your meals if you require. Hot water is provided by solar and electric geysers. The lodge has a SAFE to lock up personal effects and a gorgeous swimming pool and outside seating area in which to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Kingfisher is suitable for larger families as it has 2 double bedrooms with double beds in each and 2 smaller bedrooms with 2 single beds in each, all having mosquito nets and air conditioners. The main bedroom has an en-suite shower and toilet. There are also 2 separate shower and toilets to serve the other bedrooms.
The property has a security fence surrounding it for the guest’s protection against wandering wildlife, but the hippos regularly break this, so please still be vigilant.
