Kariba Safari Lodge is a newly opened exclusive lodge, located on Mica Point, with a breath-taking view of the eastern basin of Lake Kariba. The lodge is situated on a forested hillside that drops down to the lake shore and a sandy beach area when the lake is low. The entire 33 acres that the lodge is located on is fenced, with a gate and guarded entrance.
For those wanting to cool off, the lovely pool is just off the main entrance, and near the bar area. There is also a conference area available for businesses or, for weddings. Although not yet available, there are plans for a swimming cage to be placed at the bottom of the hill,on the sandy beach, in the lake, enabling adventurous guests to swim directly in the lake without fear of crocodiles or hippos.
There are nine open-fronted, en-suite lodges, each has its own patio and fantastic 180 degree views of the lake. Every lodge has twin beds that can be converted into king size doubles. Plus, there are eight suites, also with en-suite bathrooms and private patios, offering the same sweeping views of the lake. Each suite can sleep 4 guests in king size double beds and on two Indian day beds.All the lodges and suites have ceiling fans, mosquito nets, mini bars and complimentary tea and coffee facilities.
