A cradle of firewood a day is included in the rate, for extra there is a charge. The downstairs bedroom has two bunk beds and a shower and toilet en-suite. Each hut consists of a low walled and roofed shelter. There is a fireplace next to each hut and a central ablutions block with hot and cold running water. Tents, sleeping bags and all camping equipment including camping mattresses can be hired, the proceeds of which go to conservation of the Nyanga and Mutarazi Falls National Parks.

All beds have comfortable mattresses and extra blankets for chilly nights as well as heaters in the downstairs bedrooms.

The cottage is fully electrified and has a generator for lights in the event of faults, but guests are asked to bring their own petrol for the generator and not to use ovens and geysers when the generator is on. There is cell phone signal at the cottage.
There is also a second “spill over” cottage, Protea Cottage, next door, ideal for kids and extras. The cottages are serviced daily and firewood and charcoal can be purchased on site.
